Charlottesville, VA Has Art

While I was in Charlottesville this past week I got to check out a Rosemarie Fiore exhibit at Second Street Gallery. She does everything. Painting with lawn mowers to waffle iron paintings to "death scene" ceramic sculptures to Evil Knievel projects. I loved the variety in her work, yet the centrality of themes surrounding chaos being tamed and machines as tools for art.

...and when returning home from lunch with my mother we spotted David Ellis' painting outside of the Bridge Progressive Arts gallery.

A post from last November when Ellis was at Fifty24SF.
